New Year, New Term

Hello from everyone at Iver Community Childcare!

Wow – we are already three weeks into the new term. Our children at Shooting Stars Pre-School and Tiny Toes Childcare are looking at the topic of Pirates and Other Adventures. The topic was chosen after observing the interests of the children and many of them particularly expressed an interest hearing stories about pirates. We will be looking at pirates, adventure stories, the sea and the different types of homes that people live in. We have put together a curriculum map that shows parents and carers how we will be covering all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage. Copies of these are available to take away at your child’s setting but you can also read more below.

Our children at Shooting Stars Pre-School have really been enjoying this theme and last week created this lovely tropical setting to brighten up the (slightly!) wet January we’ve had so far.

Wizard Week will run from the 17th – 21st February 2014 and children can take part in spellbinding sports, create magical crafts, conjure up tasty treats and enjoy a Wizard party. Did we also mention that we’ll be going on a fantastic trip to Pinewood Studios for our own private film screening! We’re very excited about this! The poster below has got lots more information and if you would like to make a booking or have any questions please don’t hesitate to drop us a line at admin@ivercommunity.org or call us on 01753 654546.
